No beach vacation in your plans in the next couple months? No problem! The Colorado Mammoth is bringing the sand to you. The team is excited to announce that SandLax, a fun 3-v-3 lacrosse tournament, will be held on sand courts at The Island (2233 S. Geneva St. / Denver) on Saturday, Jan 21.
Open to boys’ and girls’ players of college age and below, the tournament replaces Colorado Mammoth RecycLax while still maintaining much of what participants loved about the competition.
“Hundreds of players have enjoyed RecycLax over the past few years, as it was a fun, enjoyable and entertaining event,” said Steve Govett, president of the Mammoth. “We’re taking the best of RecycLax and moving it to a perfect setting – on sand, where it belongs!”
SandLax will also be accompanied by pool and ping pong tournaments, and other lacrosse-related accuracy contests. Registration is just $30 per player through Jan 1. Teams are comprised of four or five players per team.
