NDP Announces Florida Finale

NDP Lacrosse has announced that it will debut the DICK’S Sporting Goods Florida Finale lacrosse tournament December 29-31 in Wesley Chapel, Fl. in conjunction with the 12th annual DICK’S Sporting Goods Tournament of Champions presented by Pasco County.

The ‘Finale’, like the pre-collegiate national championship, will feature high school elite and rising stars divisions, as well as 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 competitions. The biggest difference is the invitation process. Teams must earn bids to compete in the DICK’S Sporting Goods Tournament of Champions presented by Pasco County. Entry into the DICK’S Sporting Goods Florida Finale is open to all teams who participate in an official qualifying tournament this year that do not earn a national championship bid.

“Coaches and players from teams that haven’t qualified have been asking for the opportunity to play lacrosse over New Year’s in warm, sunny Florida,” said Josh Gross, NDP’s vice president of business operations. “The DICK’S Sporting Goods Florida Finale gives them that chance. This event will be a great extension of the qualifying tournament series and the coveted national championship platform.”

The tournaments will be held simultaneously in Pasco County, which is located about 30 minutes north of Tampa. Pasco has been home to the championship tournament since January 2008.

“Many of the biggest names in lacrosse today have played at the tournament in Florida and celebrated New Year’s with us,” said Gross. “The addition of this event is about being more inclusive and creating memories for more athletes.”

For teams that register for the ‘Finale’ and then earn bids to the national championship, their registration will automatically transition over to the DICK’S Sporting Goods Tournament of Champions presented by Pasco County.
