player of the moment

Gavin Prout, who currently serves as the Colorado Mammoth captain, has been an overwhelming presence in professional lacrosse since 2002. Prior to playing professional, Gavin played at Loyola College in Maryland. He was a Division I First team All-American in 2001, and scored 78 goals in only 28 games at Loyola. After his successful collegiate career, Gavin was the first overall draft pick by the NLL’s New York Saints. Gavin made an immediate impact on the league as a rookie, and quickly proved to be a valuable asset to the National Lacrosse League. In 2004, he was traded to the Colorado Mammoth, where he has comfortably found “home.” Gavin’s accomplishments include a career high 91 points for the Mammoth in 2004 and a team high 50 assists in 2005. In addition, Gavin has also been named to the NLL All Star team in 2002, 2004, and 2005. Obviously, Gavin is a powerful lacrosse player, and he seems to get better every time he steps out on the lacrosse field!
